About the role
The Goods and Services Category Manager is a key member of the Procurement Leadership Team and responsible for providing direction and advice to management, staff and key stakeholders aligned to our procurement principles:

- ethical behaviour and dealings
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- lead the management of contracts and procurement for all activities related to the goods, services, and fleet category (“the portfolio”)
- manage staff conducting procurement, contract management, and contract administration functions for the portfolio
- manage suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives
- work to continuously improve council’s corporate procurement systems and procedures and foster a culture of best practice
- undertake necessary reporting and analysis for evaluation of compliance, analysis of expenditure, review of savings opportunities, and assessment of benefits realisation
- maintain detailed knowledge of the relevant legislative and contractual requirements for the provision of a high quality contract management and contract administrative service throughout the total life cycle for capital and operational projects and contracts
About you
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
- undergraduate or postgraduate strategic procurement qualifications (or a business-related discipline) and/or
- equivalent experience in procurement activities in a government environment
- extensive experience with contract management, procurement and other processes relating to the portfolio
- demonstrated leadership experience
- high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with and lead other areas of council to achieve a positive outcome

This is a permanent full time position, Level 8 with a salary commencing at $121,294 plus superannuation of up to 12.25%.
