ABB is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Maryborough, on the Fraser Coast of QLD to service the QTMP project. Establishing the Supply Chain function is a vital step to setting this facility up for success. The role will be a mix of balancing adherence to company programs and frameworks, leveraging existing procedures and work instructions, and adapting or creating new as required.
This position reports to the Project Director and based in the Fraser Coast of QLD, Australia.

Your responsibilities
- Implementing, executing and monitoring effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy
- Managing planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending and savings forecasts. Buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with Company guidelines
- Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions
- Creating procurement packages, analyzing and evaluating bids in order to determine the optimal value
- Identifying new suppliers in cooperation with relevant category team. Qualifying new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists. Seting up new suppliers when needed
- Overseesing supplier performance and resolves performance issues
- Initiating purchase orders in the system, according to the Purchase Requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures
- Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements
- Tracking goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing
Your background
- Qualifications in supply chain, engineering, finance or marketing preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in similar role
- Experienced with ARIBA and SAP highly regarded
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to communicate well
- Ability to collaborate locally, nationally and internationally.
- A “Can Do” attitude and willingness to be flexible in order to get the job done
- Enjoys a fast-paced working environment with multiple parallel activities
