ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting into the Managing Director, you will proactively oversee governance policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with AbilitySeer’s business plan and external requirements.
While your role will focus on Governance and Compliance – you will be working as part of team and at times may work collaboratively to provide broader ad hoc support.
- Proactively manage, update and communicate on best practice governance frameworks, policies and procedures - providing advice to the Managing Director, Business Manager, and other team members.
- Be a subject matter expert on AbilitySeer governance, compliance and risk management policies, procedures and frameworks, monitoring and updating regularly - and promptly communicating any upcoming updates (or potential risks).
- With the Managing Director, liaise with auditors for periodic audits, project managing with leadership on required risk audits – preparing reports and actioning recommendations when needed.
- Staying up-to-date on sector registration standards and ensuring statutory compliance.
As the Governance and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for scheduling and undertaking regular internal audits of HR files, client files, and ensure that policy documents are updated as required.
You will also be responsible for working with the other team members to ensure that compliance documents, including Service Agreements, Care Plans, Client Risk Assessments, and Emergency and disaster preparedness plans are completed and signed appropriately.
Additionally, you will meet regularly with the Managing Director to update company registers, so as to manage company risks, conflicts of interests, delegations, hazards, and incidents.
This position will also require some support coordination knowledge and expertise, and experience in managing supported accommodation will be viewed favourably.
