Our client is seeking to engage an APS2 Compliance Officer.
Location: Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney
Contract Length: 6 months (29 April 2024 – 1 November 2024) with the option of 2 X 6-month extension options
Start Date: 29 April 2024

Overview:
The compliance and enforcement Branch works to ensure those selling or supplying energy are following the obligations as set out in the National Energy Customer Framework.
Our Compliance and Enforcement Priorities help guide our enforcement work and proactive compliance efforts and also signal areas where we consider that behavioral change in the market is required.
Key responsibilities will include supporting the Exemptions team as follows:
- Processing high volume exemptions on a daily basis for publication on the Agency’s website (exemptions portal).
- Contribute to the daily management of enquiries received in the team’s mailbox relating to the processing of exemptions and provide support to external stakeholders’ transition to using the exemptions portal.
- Administrative tasks to ensure data quality, including addressing data issues relating to data migration from our old to new data management system.
Selection Criteria:
In addition to meeting the Integrated Leadership Profile of the APS2 classification, the following job-specific criteria are highly desirable:
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience in, a compliance, enforcement or intelligence role (including assessments of potential non-compliance), preferably within a government regulatory environment.
- Knowledge or understanding, or the ability to quickly acquire an understanding, of the Australian energy sector and the role, purpose and objectives of the Agency.
- Tertiary qualifications in law, engineering, economics / commerce, public policy, or related fields.
