If you are looking for part-time work (up to 22.8 hours per week) and need flexibility - then this role is for you. We are looking for mid-career level, or someone with experience working in community services, and are familiar with Quality Management Systems (QMS), and accreditation standards and processes. This position is a Maximum Term Contract for 12 months with possibility of extension. This role can be based either in Karratha or South Hedland offices.

The Role - Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Corporate Services Manager, the Governance and Quality Assurance Project Officer is crucial in ensuring the Quality Management System (QMS) of the organisation is developed and maintained to relevant accreditation standards, regulations, and industry guidelines. The role plays a critical role in promoting accountability, transparency, and excellence within PCLS, ultimately contributing to its long-term success and sustainability.

• Governance Oversight: The officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the QMS and governance frameworks within the organisation. This involves establishing and maintaining policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure that operations align with the organisation's objectives and values.
• Compliance: Oversee the QMS ensuring that the organisation complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards is a primary responsibility. This includes monitoring changes in regulations, conducting systematic audits, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
• Risk Management: Identifying and assessing risks to the organisation's operations, reputation, and assets is essential. The officer works to develop strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure business continuity. Report risks monthly to the Executive Leadership and PCLS Board.
• Quality Assurance: Implementing processes to monitor and evaluate the quality of programs, services, and processes is crucial. This involves developing quality standards, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives, including a quality cycle, version control and register for policies and procedures.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records and documentation of governance activities, compliance efforts, risk management and Quality Assurance measures is essential for transparency and accountability. The officer may also be responsible for preparing reports for senior management, regulatory authorities and reporting on trends to the Executive Leadership monthly.
• Training and Education: Providing training and education to staff on governance principles, compliance requirements, and Quality standards is important to ensure that everyone within the organisation understands their roles and responsibilities.
• Stakeholder Communication: Communicating with internal and external stakeholders and statutory bodies about governance practices, compliance issues, and Quality Assurance measures helps to build trust and credibility.
