As part of the ongoing development of HealthPathways, the PHN is seeking applications from GPs who would like to become involved as a GP Clinical Editor.
The responsibilities include:
- work with the local HealthPathways programme team to develop and review pathways;
- gather and check information about local practice for clinical presentations, including assessment, management and referral;
- ensure pathways meet the information needs of the wider local health system, including the key target audience of general practice teams;
- localise pathways efficiently by making only the changes necessary to reflect local best practice and information requirements;
- meet with subject matter experts (e.g. medical specialists) and work with them when finalising and reviewing pathways;
- collaborate with, seek review by and feedback from other stakeholders in the health system as necessary when developing pathways;
- communicate effectively with technical writers at Streamliners (platform developers) online and via phone/email/other channels as necessary;
- champion the expectations and standards required to make HealthPathways useful to primary care.
Key Requirements:
- be an experienced, practicing local GP with FRACGP or FACRRM and current Medical Board of Australia/AHPRA registration;
- be responsible for ensuring they have appropriate indemnity insurance in place;
- have strong knowledge and/or experience of the health system in West Moreton region
- actively promote Health Pathways to increase awareness.
- be able to successfully cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop pathways effectively; and
- have strong analytical skills with an ability to distil key information from complex and multiple sources.
Location:
The GP Clinical Editor role is flexible with regards to workplace and can be performed from various locations provided you have access to a computer with internet connection and a phone (e.g. home, clinic). GP Clinical Editors may be required to occasionally meet with other GP Clinical Editors and the Project Coordinator – either in person or virtually. GP Clinical Editors may also be required to occasionally meet with specialists from West Moreton Health – either in person or virtually.
