The Role:
An opportunity exists for a Grade 1 Social Worker to join the team at Northern Health.
The Grade 1 Social Worker will be accountable for providing quality patient care through the application of competent clinical skills in assessment, planning, implementation of treatment and management.
This role is a permanent position with the Social Worker providing Social Work services on a rotation basis to various wards/services across Northern Health sites in Epping, Bundoora and Broadmeadows. The Grade 1 Social Worker will be expected to contribute as a member of Social Work team. The incumbent will commence on a Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit (GEM) inpatient ward at Bundoora Centre.
The Social Worker will work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The Social Worker will respond to inpatient and outpatient referrals as required and provide psychosocial assessments and interventions to patients and their family. This role will require flexibility to be able to provide efficient response to referrals combined with other non-clinical components such as providing education to staff, innovation and quality improvement, participating in relevant meetings, and contributing as a member of the Social Work team.
The role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours to meet the changing operational demands. Staff will be required to rotate to other campuses.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
Experience - Desirable
- Placement or paid work experience within an inpatient acute or sub-acute health service
- Fluency in a community language
