Grade 3 Senior Social Worker - Parkville

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Grade 3 Social Worker for a permanent ongoing full-time role based in, Parkville. Those seeking part-time may also be considered.

About the role:

Social Work at this hospital aims to improve the psychosocial health and well-being of women,pregnant people and babies in attendance. Social Work embraces a view of women's and patients' health that is holistic and considers women's and patients' social, physical, emotional and cultural wellbeing.

Our Social Workers offer support to patients through their maternity, neonatal, gynaecological and oncology experiences and provide information, counselling, support and advocacy for patients in response to health and social needs.

Team Leaders will have clinical and non-clinical accountabilities as well as responsibilities for leading departmental clinical portfolios and working groups.

Key responsibilities:

• Undertake direct clinical practice and provide a high quality evidence-based Social Work, including psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, short-term counselling, bereavement care, advocacy, community liaison and referral, case management and discharge planning
• Possess a high level theoretical understanding and an intersectional approach to clinical practice in relation to working with victim/survivors of family violence and sexual assault and knowledge of working with complex trauma and the child protection system.
• Provide management and leadership to the social work team and ensure service delivery practice is in line with current evidence-based practice
• Provide containment and coaching - engage with staff in developing and committing to their plan that targets specific behaviours, skills or knowledge needed

About you:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work as well as meeting eligibility requirements for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as a credentialed Social Worker
• Demonstrated leadership skills in accordance and provision of Social Workers with regular supervision in accordance with AASW practice standards.
• Experience within child protection, women, children or babies is desirable

Salary and Benefits:

• Annual salary between $100,000 - $120,000 + super
• 5 weeks annual leave
