South West Sydney Local Health District is interested in recruiting for a number of Social Worker positions across the District who are passionate about working in the inpatient Mental Health setting. We are looking for Social Workers who are hardworking and consumer focused in assisting patients during their treatment and linking them with supports post-discharge from hospital. The Social Worker will be responsible for providing high quality psychosocial assessments and intervention to people with Mental Health problems and their families/ carers. The Social Worker will need to possess knowledge and skills to work alongside social work colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team.The social work position is part of a larger social work team working in the inpatient Mental Health units across Liverpool Hospital and Campbelltown Hospital. There are three positions that are required across both sites.These positions are rotational where you will have the opportunity to experience various Mental Health units from acute to non-acute Mental Health settings. The role is social work specific and includes assessment, intervention, and discharge planning.The position is also part of a treating team that includes nurses, medical, diversional therapy, occupational therapists , clinical psychology, and peer work staff.There is also a wide range of professional and learning opportunities within this role along with the support of the dynamic and well established inpatient Mental Health social work team across SWSLHD who aspires to provide the highest standard of social work service to the consumers in the various inpatient Mental Health unitsWhat You'll be Doing
To provide Social Work services to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.Where You'll Be Working

- Demonstrated experience in a health related field and ability to provide a range of Social Work interventions
- Demonstrated experience prioritising work and managing stressful situations
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal) and computer skills
- Evidence of commitment to clinical supervision and professional learning
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to quality processes, and the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
