Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Graduate Accountant. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in the field of accountancy. As a Graduate Accountant, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop your skills and knowledge in various accounting functions. You will be responsible for assisting senior accountants with financial tasks, maintaining accurate records, and providing support in day-to-day accounting operations.
Skills:
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Basic understanding of financial principles and regulations
Responsibilities:
Assist senior accountants with daily accounting activities, including data entry, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements.
Conduct analysis on financial data to identify trends or discrepancies.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Participate in the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations.
Support the preparation of tax returns by gathering relevant information from various sources.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate recording of transactions across departments.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply; prior experience is not required but considered a plus.
Strong academic record demonstrating proficiency in finance-related coursework.
Good understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
Working towards achieving professional certification such as CPA or CAANZ is preferred but not mandatory.
