Graduate Civil Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering student to join our supportive Wollongong Construction team. This great role will suit someone looking to work on various projects in a friendly and supportive team with a growing market leader at our offices, located in Wollongong CBD.

Responsibilities

• Assist the engineers in the planning, execution, and finalisation of projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes the coordination of resources including, third-party contractors, and/or consultants to deliver projects according to plans
• Assist with the definition of the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its lifecycle
• Liaise with authorities and utility agencies to obtain project approvals
• Compiling reports, registers, fortnightly meetings, and issuing of minutes
• Preparation of works contracts
• Friendly and professional interactions with clients where appropriate
• Monitoring and ensuring compliance with EHS policies and Quality Assurance documentation
• Preparation of estimate of quantities and tender documentation 
• Assisting with site inspections and progress reports of site works including the use of technologies where required
• Review and compile contractor quality assurance documentation
• Adoption, promotion, and adherence to the Orion Quality Management (QMS) and Work Health & Safety (WHS) Systems.

Skills and Expertise

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Construction Management or working towards completing
• General Construction Induction (White Card)
• Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to focus, prioritise and be open to feedback
• Be curious and have the desire to learn 
• Experience using MS Office, MS Project and Basic AutoCAD (desirable)
