About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our Projects team. 

In this role you will perform engineering and design duties, which require application of engineering principles.  You will provide assistance to business development managers, design and construction managers and estimators.  Tasks are closely supervised and designed to further develop your knowledge and abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with project team to perform specific tasks as assigned for the creation of design documents and drawings for a project, including creating wiring diagrams from schematics, generating bills of materials, and applying field mark-ups of project as-built drawings under direct supervision
• Perform engineering support tasks such as lighting, simplified load flow, and short circuit calculations under direct supervision
• Learn and apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow and short circuit studies under direct supervision
• Complete tasks as assigned to meet engineering and design effort project schedule requirements
• Learn and apply engineering standards including Energex, TRM and Local Authority
• Learn and properly use the document management system
• Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices
• Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of his/her work

About you

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

• Degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering (or will be graduating soon)
• Understanding of basic CAD functions
• Ability to create drawings in .dwg or similar
• Prior internship and/or related work experience is a benefit
• Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
• Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
• Have the ability to prioritise work to meet multiple deadlines
• Deliver high quality outcomes and self-motivated
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
• High level computer literacy including Excel
