The Water and Wastewater team play an integral role in ensuring the sustainability of Lismore City Councils water network. The multi skilled team undertake a variety of tasks from simple service installs to major renewals to replace ageing infrastructure. The team is dedicated to providing a professional standard of works and customer service and are very passionate about the work they do.
You'll be working in a permanent full time 70 hours per fortnight role, that will primarily be based at our Wyrallah Road Depot in East Lismore.
Students nearing completion of their Bachelor of Civil or Mechanical Engineering qualification are encouraged to apply!

What we trust you to deliver
You will have a proven ability to collect, collate and analyse information and data from a wide variety of sources and prepare and present reports verbally and in writing to diverse stakeholder
Develop project plans for the delivery of Water and Wastewater Capital projects
Assist in monitoring Water and Wastewater maintenance and operational activities to ensure compliance with relevant Government Legislation and Environmental standards
Assist with ensuring liquid trade-waste discharge complies with Councils standards and approvals
Supervision of works packages, including tender preparation and contract preparation and administration
Engage and consult by means of well developed oral and written communication skills, with the capability to influence, listen to others, put forward ideas and encourage the views of others
What you'll need to be successful
Have either completed your Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant field within the last 12 months, or nearing completion
Willingness to get your boots dirty - this role is more than sitting behind a desk, you will be in the field learning from experienced operational staff
The skills, capability and willingness to analyse problems, evaluate alternatives with a focus on collaborative problem solving
Demonstrated effective communication skills both oral and written
Able to support innovation and process improvement within the water and waste discipline to ensure Lismore remains a regional leader in this area
