As a Wesley Graduate, you will have the opportunity to work with a world-renowned health care team in one of Queensland’s most complex and high acuity hospital environments. We offer comprehensive care across a wide range of acute tertiary-level medical and surgical services with a particular focus on cancer care, cardiac care, women’s and children’s care, and complex surgical care. This includes the busiest robotic surgery program and the first Robotic Surgery Centre of Excellence accredited in Australia.
Over the course of your 12-month program, you can expect to be exposed to varied and exciting work. You will be provided the support and opportunity to consolidate your skills and learning, to deliver safe and holistic person-centred care, apply best clinical practice and ensure a safe environment for patients. Working collaboratively with your multidisciplinary team, you will apply your exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Most importantly, we offer educators, leaders and teammates who genuinely care from the heart about your success. Some have been supporting and educating others for over 20 years – so they have a good understanding of what you’ll experience during your first year in the real world.

Streams to consolidate your skills:
This intake we'll be offering permanent full-time and part-time (0.8 FTE) opportunities to Graduate Enrolled and Registered Nurses into our General Nursing and Perioperative.
Whichever stream you choose, our 12-month program will provide you with a deep, rich learning experience, supported by experienced staff who care about your future. As a high-acuity, specialist facility, our program will allow you to focus on developing your clinical expertise in your chosen speciality.
You will have the opportunity to broaden your experience and build your skills in the following programs:
General Nursing Stream (two 6-month rotations)
- Acute Medicine
- Cardiology and Vascular
- Coronary Care
- Neuroscience
- Oncology
- Orthopaedics
- Palliative Care
- Rehabilitation
- Respiratory
- General Surgery
- Urology
- Women's Health & Plastics
Perioperative Stream (12-months non-rotational)
- Scrub/Scout
- Anaesthetics
What makes a difference for us?
To be eligible to apply, you will need:
- To have completed your Bachelor of Nursing; or Diploma of Nursing between Dec 2023 and Dec 2024
- To hold registration with AHPRA by 12th January 2025
- Unlimited working rights in Australia
- Flexibility to work a full rotating roster (in a full-time or part-time 0.8 FTE position)
- You will need to be available to commence on the 3rd of February 2025
