R.W. Corkery & Co. (RWC) is a professional, experienced and passionate organisation that has been delivering industry leading environmental, geological and technical services into mining, quarrying, construction and infrastructure projects since 1980.

RWC provides a broad base of professional and technical expertise to projects primarily within the mining and quarrying industries. We specialise in providing comprehensive environmental assessment documentation as well as technical and compliance advice on environmental matters. We have a strong reputation within the industries and are known for our flexible approach and ability to apply tailored solutions to achieve successful outcomes.

The Role

We are currently looking for recent and motivated Graduates who have or are in the final stages of completing their undergraduate studies with excellent academic results. Depending on the needs of the successful applicant, the position would be located in either: 

  • Orange: in the regional food and wine hub of Central West NSW and close to many of our clients; or 
  • Sydney: in a vibrant and modern office conveniently located in central Chatswood.

Flexible working arrangements including working from home will be considered for the right candidate. However, given this is a graduate role, candidates will be required to attend the office and client site visits to facilitate learning and collaboration with other members of the RWC team. 

In working with RWC, you will consult on a broad range of client projects, overcome challenges and look for innovative solutions to deliver positive outcomes to our clients and the communities they operate in. Responsibilities include the following.

  • Working with a broad range of clients and technical experts to project manage and execute end-to-end delivery of large and small projects.
  • Deliver a high-level of authorship on a range of technical documents including environmental impact statements, management plans and technical reports, as well as provision of technical expert advice. 
  • Interpret data from a variety of disciplines and use your understanding of environmental, planning, regulatory and policy requirements to develop and deliver client-focused solutions.
  • Contribute to project pipelines by becoming a trusted advisor for our clients and connecting them with the right skills within the company or our wider selection of technical specialists.
  • Enjoy and contribute to a friendly, collaborative and fun workplace.

Successful candidates will bring the following.

  • Tertiary degree/qualification (or pending) in a relevant discipline such as environmental science, geology, soil, ecology, water, engineering, law or related sciences. 
  • A genuine desire to work in environmental consultancy.
  • Confidence in your exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A pro-active, self-motivated approach to your work.
  • An ability to research and review documentation, drawing and clearly articulating conclusions and recommendations, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to network and build trusted relationships with clients, specialist consultants, government agencies and community stakeholders.
  • An ability to demonstrate judgement, initiative and leadership qualities. 
  • Current drivers’ licence.
