The Position
With a comprehensive broadacre and horticultural field trial program located in Southern Queensland, the business continues to expand in the region. Within the Field Biology Unit, a new team is up and running with a focus on the old principles of data excellence, combined with a strong team culture.
There is now the requirement for an additional Field Scientist, a graduate, to join the internal research team covering the Southeast Queensland region. Working from your home office and reporting to the Field Biology Manager, you will learn on the job and be fully supported as you grow into your role. It involves being accountable for conducting and reporting on crop protection field trials across herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and abiotic stress products.
The role offers variety and flexibility, including working in the field and office, whilst liaising with a wide range of people across the agricultural industry.
The Person
To be successful in this technical role you will ideally possess:
- A positive attitude and desire to learn
- Some practical field work experience
- Crop agronomy knowledge
- Communication skills including attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Completed relevant tertiary qualifications in agricultural science
You will have the willingness to question basic concepts and look for new opportunities.
