About The Role

Auswide Bank is in search of a highly motivated Graduate Financial Data Analyst to join our team!

In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Finance and Products teams and contribute to pricing and profitability decisions by conducting thorough, precise, and timely data-driven analyses.

The Graduate Financial Data Analyst role is technical. It involves supporting the end-to-end pricing of our credit and deposit products and profitability of our distribution channels - encompassing tasks such as data preparation, analysis, modelling, technical review, and presenting insights to management.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in continuous learning and growth within the workplace. We particularly encourage recent graduates in Commerce/Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics or related fields to apply. The position is a full-time, permanent role based at our Head Office in Bundaberg or Corporate Office in the Brisbane CBD.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects, guided by the experienced insights of senior team members. We value efficiency, attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks, ensuring high-quality outcomes for key stakeholders. This role offers a fantastic opportunity within a supportive environment to hone your skills through:

  • Understanding sources of data, its limitations and common uses within the team.
  • Managing and manipulating very large data sets.
  • Conducting technical analysis as directed, including building predictive models.
  • Drawing insights and providing recommendations on next steps.
  • Quantifying the change impacts on portfolios and profitability.
  • Performing regular reporting.

About You

As well as having excellent attention to detail and an analytical mindset, you will also need a:

  • Completion of relevant Degree (Commerce/Economics, Computer Science, Data Analytics etc.)
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite in particular Excel and Power BI
  • Programming knowledge highly regarded.
