Graduate Geotechnical Engineer - Transmission Line Project

Elecnor has been contracted to build EnergyConnect, a new 700km Transmission Line extending from Wagga Wagga NSW to the South Australian border. 

This backbone infrastructure will connect customers with more renewable energy enabling a further 4950MW of generation capacity, save NSW customers $180 million a year and create 1,500 new construction jobs in regional NSW. 

Construction of EnergyConnect is underway in various locations across the project area.

The Role:

Elecnor Australia  is offering an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join the team on-site in rural NSW, working on a 14/7 roster. In the role of Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, you will contribute to geotechnical analysis for access tracks and roads, tower locations, foundations, and other Transmission Line initiatives.

Primary Accountabilities:

• Conduct geotechnical analysis along the OHTL, assessing soil conditions, rock formations, and groundwater characteristics
• Collaborate with the engineering team to develop robust foundation designs for OHTL towers, ensuring structural stability
• Evaluate and mitigate slope stability risks using advanced techniques to support safe installation in varying terrains
• Implement real-time monitoring during construction to ensure adherence to geotechnical design specifications.

Skills & Experience:

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering
• Previous experience with Geotechnical Engineering 
• Thorough understanding of Australian OHS legislative requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• White Card (General Construction Induction Card)
• Driver’s License
