About the Opportunity
Due to consistent growth across our business, Nordon Cylinders now has a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Graduate or Junior Mechanical Design Engineer to join one of the most dynamic fields of engineering located in Brendale QLD 4500.
As part of our engineering team, this role will see you utilising your vast knowledge and experience to overcome problems, whilst ensuring 2D and 3D designs and drawings are generated to relevant standards and client specifications.
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Creating new products designs - preparing 3d models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks 3D Modelling software.
- Creating designs that are standardised, elegant, and practical to produce.
- Perform engineering calculations to ensure that new products are “Fit for Purpose”.
- Presenting this information to customers in the form of a product catalogue and drawings for customer approval of designs.
- Configuring and customising our design to meet the requirements for customer orders.
- Assist with processing of manufacturing paperwork and assisting factory staff to find solutions to manufacturing issues.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
- Have a keen interest in mechanical design – see your designs come to life.
- Completed (or almost completed) a Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar).
- SolidWorks modelling and drafting experience.
- Good computer skills – especially Microsoft Office.
- An understanding of Simulation (FEA) experience would be beneficial.
- An understanding of manufacturing processes - some hands-on experience would be helpful.
- Be enthusiastic, willing to learn, and work as a part of a team.
- Great communication skills – both verbal and written.
