We are looking for a Graduate Lawyer to join our small-medium sized CBD-based legal firm.
The position involves working with the firms senior lawyers, mainly in the areas of personal injury and employment law.
There is direct client contact on a regular basis involved in the position. It will suit persons who like dealing with people and who have the ability to connect and interact with our clients. Client rapport is very important to the firm. Our ethos is that rough enough is never good enough. We strive for excellence not just in our client relationships but in a quality of work which we deliver for our clients.
This position is suited to someone who:
- Is admitted to practice in Australia
- Has the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Has a high standard of work quality and a high level of attention to detail
- Has a willingness to learn and take direction
- Can demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
Duties:
- Taking instructions for affidavits of evidence/personal injury particulars and the preparation of these documents
- Preparations of pleadings (including statements of claim, lists of documents, contentions etc.)
- Corresponding with clients and opposing lawyers
- Research on varied topics relevant to personal injury and employment law issues
- Preparation of briefs for counsel and liaising with counsel
- Appearing at directions hearings
The position is full-time in our Adelaide office.
