Unlock Your Purpose

At Jacobs, every day is an opportunity to make the world better, more connected, more sustainable. We’re powered by more than 60,000 people across the globe who deliver innovative scientific, technical, professional and program management solutions for the public and private sector.

We're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Ready to make your impact on tomorrow? We’re seeking thinkers and doers, visionaries and change-makers to join our 2025 Graduate Program!

About the Role

As one of the world’s most value resources, our team is solving some of the world’s most complex water issues. Whether it’s treating, distributing or storing water, Jacobs reaches across boundaries and collaborates to successfully deliver customized innovative solutions. We provide you with the means and tools to work on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects to grow your career and help protect this valuable resource.

We have an immediate requirement for a Graduate Mechanical Engineer (Water) to join our Melbourne or Adelaide Water infrastructure team in 2025. We welcome applications from candidates based in other locations across Australia or New Zealand, pending they are located nearby to a Jacobs Office. This is an opportunity to join a supportive, dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally. In this role you’ll quickly be involved in activities such as: performing mechanical calculations to analyse, select and design mechanical systems such as pumps, as well as contributing to multidisciplinary teams delivering major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Here’s What You’ll Need

Ideally, by January 2025 you’ll hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering. This is a unique role that requires applicants to hold the right to work in Australia. Bring your curiosity, collaborative spirit and strong communication skills, and we’ll help you grow, pursue and fulfil what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together.

Our 2025 Graduate Program

As a Graduate at Jacobs, you’ll be a valued member of our team from Day 1 and work on real projects, bids and tenders from the get-go. From gaining hands-on experience, to participating in networking events and structured learning sessions, you’ll find new and inventive ways to help our clients make the world a better place.

Our teams offer a supportive environment to help you to learn, grow and excel. Working under the guidance and mentorship of our experts and industry leaders, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge to deliver the boldest solutions for the extraordinary and the everyday.

You'll receive structured advancement throughout the grad program, along with salary increases over your first two years. We offer a competitive salary, great employee benefits and income protection. Please note the salaries listed on our job advertisements are base salaries, excluding super.

We see graduates as the future leaders of our business, which is why we’re delighted to have placed #23 in the Australian Financial Review’s Top 100 Graduate Employers award for ‘Most Popular Employer’ in 2024 and featured in the Top 10 for 'Most Popular Engineering Employer' Award!
No matter what drives you, you’ll discover how you can cultivate, nurture, and achieve your goals – all at a single global company.
