As a Graduate Officer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of economic policies and social initiatives that shape our State’s future, allowing you to make a meaningful impact and contribute to positive change.
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform government decision-making, giving you exposure to high-stakes decision-making processes.

  • Be placed within, or rotate through, various Treasury and Finance branches, or within another agency or department, providing you with a broad perspective of the public sector and opportunities for career growth and exploration.
  • Work in different locations: while many positions are based in the CBD, some placements or rotations may be located elsewhere, offering you the chance to experience different environments.
  • Work for an organisation which promotes work-life balance and flexibility.
  • Work with confidential information and handle sensitive data responsibly, ensuring that you develop a strong sense of professionalism and integrity.

We have four specialised streams within the DTF tailored to your interests and skills:

  • Core Treasury and Finance: Delve into financial management, budgeting, forecasting, intergovernmental relations, taxation, economic analysis, risk management and policy advice, equipping you with essential financial skills for your future career.
  • Procurement SA: Embark on a transformative journey to become a procurement specialist, delving into the intricacies of procurement policy, contract management, and supplier relationship management, equipping you with invaluable insights into strategic sourcing and supply chain optimisation.
  • RevenueSA: Who said you can’t work in taxation and have fun at the same time?  At RevenueSA we are ready to fast track your career with unrivalled first-hand experience across business and property taxes as well as the administration of grant schemes such as the First Home Owner Grant. Whether your interest is in taxation policy, compliance, taxation administration or assisting clients on the front line, we promise you’ll finish each day feeling challenged and content that you have made a positive contribution to South Australia.
  • Shared Services SA: Immerse yourself in financial accounting and taxation services while gaining broad experience across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and corporate areas including project management, governance, risk, systems management and administration, all while directly contributing to operations crucial for the sustainability of our state.
