This means you will naturally possess well developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, coupled with the ability to read and adapt to a diverse range of personalities. It is your ability to be liked and demonstrate your value to clients (both potential and existing) which will determine your level of success.
Other key behaviours sought is your ability to be pro-active in developing new business opportunities. This means identifying competitors to your existing client base to promote products OR identify new materials you can broadly promote across an industry sector and businesses within the industry supply chain. This means using your initiative to identify key staff at businesses you are targeting (e.g. Procurement, R&D, Technical, Marketing etc.) to secure appointments i.e. "Cold Calling" AND; leveraging new and existing customer relationships OR your network by way of referrals to open doors.
Aside from these key behaviours, which is our primary focus, other key selection criteria which will be considered includes and is not limited to the following:
- Formal Qualifications in Food Sciences, Chemistry, Business or Related Field/s of Study
- Have an amiable disposition that enables you to build effective working relationships at all levels with internal / external stakeholders
- Can demonstrate the ability to effectively manage difficult client situations (i.e. problem solve) and Maintain customer satisfaction
- Have the ability to work with clients and forecast demand to support operational and supply chain management initiatives
- Have a "Can-Do - Results Oriented" mindset to just get in and get the job done
- Are passionate about selling quality products which make a difference and with a strong business that will support/help you to succeed
