As an Allied Health Professional, you will support NDIS participants to enrich and uphold their independence in the community and at home.
Job Purpose:
In this role, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based Occupational Therapist services, working closely with participants in the community across disabilities.
Graduate Occupational Therapists encouraged to apply.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Best practice occupational therapy assessments.
- Integrated service delivery and follow-up as required with relevant providers.
- Conduct functional assessments to evaluate clients’ needs.
- Identify requirements for other Allied Health interventions and make referrals.
- Implement, monitor and review rehabilitation plans to achieve short- and long-term therapeutic goals with participant, other team members and support workers/family.
- Develop plans to guide and implement home modifications, Assistive Technology, therapeutic appliances, and OT interventions.
- Provide functional capacity building as appropriate including cognition, motor retraining, sensory retraining, developing compensatory techniques, activities of daily living, hand therapy and oedema management.
- Ensure information is recorded in the clients’ electronic health record.
Qualifications and Memberships required:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with APHRA.
- Current Police Check.
- Current Working with Children's Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening check.
- Medical First Group complies with infectious disease control and immunisation requirements under legislation. This position is classified as Healthcare Worker B. Evidence of immunisation history and any government mandated vaccinations e.g. COVID 19 must be provided prior to appointment unless otherwise medically exempt (evidence of medical exception must be supplied).
