Job description

We currently have a vacancy for a Graduate Project Engineer at our Warana facility. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate with an interest in Project Engineering and will suit someone with a hands-on approach with the intention to grow and succeed. You will work closely with the Program Manager and production team to support the delivery of assigned chlor-alkali projects to ensure defined costs, schedule/timeframes, and quality outcomes are achieved. This role offers opportunities for learning, development, and growth. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Delivery - Plan, schedule, and execute aspects of production facility projects and ensure project deliverables are in accordance with forecasted costs and deadlines.
  • Engineering Management - Produce scoping packages for balance of plant design - including design safety, manage external design partners to ensure quality and time requirements are met, and ensure statutory records are kept and relevant plant information is provided to the operations team.
  • Procurement - Supplier engagement to ensure goods are receipt in an effective and timely manner, manage vendor data, assist with logistics and delivery planning, and compilation/tendering of RFQ packages.
  • Contruction Execution - Ensure construction execution is maintained through effective planning/progress reporting & through the supervision of construction activities to required cost, schedule and quality. Scoping and engagement of regional contractors.
  • Operational Readiness - Compilation of handover documents, assist with the population of asset register and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Safety, Environmental & Social Responsibilities - Ensure work is carried out in a safe manner and in compliance with health and safety legislation and company policies/procedures. Ensure environmental impacts are minimized in accordance with Environmental Approval (EA) conditions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Degree qualified engineer (preferably mechanical or electrical) with a basic understanding of process design and piping systems
  • Site construction experience with willingness to visit project locations on an as needed basis
  • Practical and capable person
  • Delivery and enabling mindset
  • Excellent communicator
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project 
  • Self-motivated person with integrity and honesty as core beliefs
  • Proactive and hands on approach in executing tasks with a desire to grow and succeed
  • Sunshine Coast based
