We work with large utility companies performing a blend of consultancy services, software development and application support services. We operate in the areas of real-time network control, integration of renewable energy systems, network analytics and big data systems, each of which support the operation of large electrical networks.
LocationOur offices are on the Northern Beaches of Sydney but we are in the process of relocating to Chatswood.
The RoleThe role is for a Graduate Software Engineer/developer working in a software development and application support capacity. You will work with a team of skilled Software Engineers who will provide you with on-the-job training and mentoring.
The systems and solutions that we develop and you will be working with include:
- Real-time network data capture and storage,
- Data and network analytics applications,
- Real-time systems integration to Distribution Management Systems and Distributed Energy (Renewable) Resource systems,
- Energy Management and Demand Response Applications,
- Real-time back-office and ERP integration,
- Real-time , High-Availability architectures.
We require the following minimum qualifications for the position:
- B. Sc. Computer Science, Information Systems or Data Systems, or
- B.E. Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering.
- Well qualified graduates or developers with one to two years experience,
- Final year students and honours under-grads are also encouraged to apply.
The following skills are essential
- Java,
- Javascript,
- Data markup languages (XML, JSON, YAML),
- REST and RPC Services,
- Comprehensive understanding of the SDLC,
- Excellent technical writing skills,
- Excellent communications skills.
Other skills that would be highly regarded include:
- A sound understanding of DevOps principles,
- A sound knowledge of SQL,
- Knowledge of power system networks or electrical engineering background,
- Knowledge of big data systems,
- Knowledge of Integration Service buses (e.g. ActiveMQ, AMQP, MQTT).
