- Graduating from a preservice primary or secondary education degree in 2024 (mid or end of 2024 to commence teaching in 2024 or 2025)
- Eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Eligible to hold registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) on commencement with BCE.

Regarding a pathway to become Catholic, some employees opt to undertake the (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults).
