Queensland Theatre has more than 50 years of proud history creating an extensive repertoire of Australian, classic, contemporary, international and theatrical works.  At the heart of our mission is a team that is driven by a passion for the work we do and their positive spirit.

We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer (on a part-time basis) to join our dedicated team to drive our grant fundraising program and grow support for Queensland Theatre.  This role is suited to someone who is highly motivated, is able to manage the requirements of a diverse operational environment and who will enjoy being involved in theatre making and the arts.

Through the generosity of our partners and donors, we invest in a diverse range of artistic programs and work including drama education and youth programs developing the skills of aspiring young artists and theatre-makers throughout Queensland.

Role snapshot

The Grant Writer is responsible for the successful delivery and management of our grant program by identifying grant funding opportunities and writing compelling grant applications to achieve Queensland Theatre’s income generation objectives.   Key features of the role include:

  •        identifying and responding to grant/funding opportunities, writing and submitting compelling grant applications to generate fundraising income, and facilitating grant reporting and acquittal processes;
  •     liaising internally to understand business unit funding needs and aligning these with grant funding programs; and
  •     developing strong relationships within a portfolio of trusts and foundations to support and achieve income generation objectives.

Who we are looking for – selection criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:-

Ø  At least three years’ experience in a communications or grant writing role with an ability to write compelling proposals and grants that effectively communicate goals and objectives.

Ø  Proven fundraising experience with a successful track record in generating income.

Ø  Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise and persuasive content and correspondence to achieve objectives and meet business needs.

Ø  Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills that ensure building positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and achieving successful outcomes for all parties.

Ø  Strong organisational and administration skills with a capacity to demonstrate initiative and the ability to meet multiple deadlines and work well under pressure.

Ø  Well-honed collaborative working style to achieve results.

Desirable

1.     Knowledge of or experience in the arts sector.

You will be highly motivated, have a positive attitude and be self-directed with an ability to collaborate in a busy environment and to think creatively and analytically to achieve results.

The is a part-time role with standard work hours 22.8 hours per week (0.6 FTE).
