Graphic Artist

The role of Graphic Artist reports into the Graphics Director. The primary focus will be to produce graphics such as maps, charts, tables - and digital artwork for our News, Sport and Entertainment coverage. The majority of work will be digital in output, though there may be the occasion where print work is also required.

The Presentation team creates award winning visual stories, illustrations and graphics for The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Brisbane Times and WAToday.

We work alongside the countries best journalists, photographers, video producers and editors to produce industry leading visual content that informs and engages our audience. The team works across all platforms and with every topic - from magazine design to data rich interactives, from News and Sport to lifestyle and Entertainment.

Day to day you will:

• Service the newsroom graphics needs 
• Work with Topic Editors on visual content for news and features
• Create Digital artwork and illustration for premium stories. 
• Be audience centric - put our audience experience first and foremost.
• Work quickly and accurately to ensure deadlines are met
• Be a supportive member of the team, providing assistance and advice to others when applicable

Please note, this is a fixed-term position until July 17th. The position will include shift and weekend work .
