Graphic Design Assistant

About the role: 

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Graphic Design Assistant to join our creative team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design and possess a strong understanding of visual communication principles. As a Graphic Design Assistant, you will collaborate with our team to create compelling visual assets that align with our brand identity and objectives. 

Your key responsibilities: 

• Assist the Graphic Designer in creating compelling visual content for a variety of platforms including print, digital, and social media.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop design concepts that align with our brand identity and marketing objectives.
• Produce graphic elements such as logos, illustrations, and infographics that enhance our brand presence and messaging.
• Assist in the creation of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, and presentations.
• Help maintain brand consistency across all marketing collateral and communication channels.
• Support the production process by preparing files for print or digital distribution.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in Graphic Design to continually improve skills and knowledge.
• Contribute to brainstorming sessions and offer creative ideas and solutions.
• Support other departments with design needs as required.

About You:

• A genuine love for dogs! 
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in Graphic Design is a plus.
• Portfolio showcasing creative design solutions and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Basic skills in illustration, typography, colour theory, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Editing and re-touching skills and ability to create packaging renders.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to take feedback positively.
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for work.
• Basic knowledge of print production processes and digital media platforms.
