The Opportunity
Come and discover the opportunity to join our Sales and Marketing and Innovation team in our BlueScope Building Components business as a Graphic Designer. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.
In this position, you will play a key role in implementing the BlueScope Building Components strategy through the creation of sales and marketing promotional materials. We are seeking a conceptual and creative thinker.
Reporting directly to the Brand Manager, you will collaborate on various projects, bringing innovative ideas to the table. The ideal candidate possesses meticulous attention to detail and an intuitive ability to identify and address design gaps. Your professional growth will be fuelled by your capacity to elevate our brand identity across diverse mediums.
This role is based in Mascot, NSW, offering a 15-month fixed-term contract with standard working hours from Monday to Friday, with potential for conversion to full-time permanent employment. The end date for the contract is 30 June 2025.
What Will You Do?
We are seeking a dynamic designer to thrive and evolve in this role. As a self-motivated individual with a keen attention to detail, you should excel in managing deadlines and contribute effectively as a collaborative team member. Ideally, you'll have the following:
- visual design creation - produce high-quality visual designs for print and digital mediums, with a core focus on marketing material such as brochures, catalogues and literature, in addition to digital assets, and product illustrations
- collateral management and maintenance - manage and maintain existing sales collateral and technical literature, including brochures, catalogues, price lists and manuals
- brand identity development - contribute to the development and maintenance of the brand's visual identity, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand guidelines
- team collaboration - work closely with the marketing team to understand design requirements and deliver creative solutions that meet business objectives
- adaptation and optimisation - modify designs based on feedback, optimise designs for different platforms, and ensure they resonate with the target audience
More About You
This is a great opportunity for a Designer who enjoys working across a broad range of marketing activities and has the confidence to navigate through a complex business environment. You will be a proactive self-starter with sound decision-making ability. You will have the following experience and attributes:
- tertiary qualifications in Design or a related discipline or equivalent on-the-job experience
- knowledge of design, typography, print processes and techniques
- demonstrated knowledge and experience in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- proven track record in creating effective marketing materials such as brochures, images, social media, and web assets
- ability to handle multiple briefs, numerous projects and the flexibility to prioritise
- effective communication and influencing skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and customers
