The Opportunity
A creative and enthusiastic Graphic Designer to join our Communications team.
In this role you will work collaboratively to provide a broad range of graphic design services for diverse projects across the Department. The graphic design products and materials you develop will be used in both traditional and digital communication channels internally and externally and will need to meet required accessibility standards.
You will be highly skilled and knowledgeable in current graphic design tools, principles and practices across traditional print and digital channels, including the website, intranet, and social media.
As our ideal candidate, you will have a positive can-do attitude, be able to deliver innovative graphic design solutions and have a clear commitment to delivering excellent customer service.

This is a 24 month fixed term contract opportunity, with the possibility of extension or permanency.
About you
- Demonstrated creative experience and ability in developing design solutions for print and digital materials.
- Demonstrated skills designing materials consistent with relevant style and accessibility (WCAG 2.1) guidelines.
- Work collaboratively to manage competing stakeholder requirements and deadlines.
- Educate DoT staff about our brand and advocate for its consistent application internally and externally.
- Expertly use industry-standard design software packages in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite - such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop on a Windows OS.
- Work to agreed service delivery priorities and business objectives to achieve desired outcomes.
- Cultivate strong, productive working relationships and partnerships.
- Be positive, flexible and adaptable to meet the ever-changing needs of the business unit.

What is a recruitment pool?
This is a pool recruitment process; we use recruitment pools to build a bank of talent who we feel might be suited to future opportunities within the Department of Transport. You may join us on a full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanent basis however an appointment is not guaranteed.
This pool process can be used to fill other part time and full-time positions that may arise over the next twelve months.
The recruitment pool will remain open for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of first appointment.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made for this or similar future vacancies (fixed term or permanent) that arise within the next 12 months.
