Graphic & Product Design Role

Our business designs & produces a wide array of products, mostly textile based - for an expanding group of clients. We're lucky to have an amazing group of clients to work with. 

At the core of our business, our customers will call on us to design products that might be intended to meet any one of the needs below:

• Promote their brand via clothing designs, corporate merchandise and other products;
• Serve a unique purpose within their business (usually when alternative products on the market are not adequate) where only a custom designed and made product can cater to that specific need;
• Protect a workforce from hazards at work (generally via design and supply of safety focussed PPE & clothing).

Our role in assisting these clients is to understand their requirements and present products and designs that meet their needs from a design, quality and cost perspective. 

The person we are seeking will play an integral role in creating new design concepts, and will be responsible for graphically mocking up our design concepts to present to our clients. This role will also involve preparing instructions and specifications to brief the factories we work with (in china) on our design & Production requirements, so that we're able to produce product samples and production in keeping with our design, quality, cost & timing requirements. 

We have also independently designed and launched a brand of recycled apparel: (website: rearecycledapparel.com). This new brand contains high quality wardrobe staples that are made using entirely recycled materials. Where-ever possible, we conduct our business and encourage our clients to favour products that are environmentally sustainable. 

Our clients are mainly based in Western Australia, and they come to us because of the very unique breadth of projects we will take on, always with a “can-do” attitude, and a strong commitment to providing fantastic service. 

We're seeking a candidate that is excited by new challenges and enjoys being involved in all aspects of Product Design, manufacturing and delivery. And very importantly - we are seeking a person that will bring a great attitude, and energy to our business. A positive, progressive and supportive culture is core to our business, so we prioritise finding the right fit with regard to these factors especially.  

We’re seeking a new team member to work mainly on the design side of the business. This means, we’re looking for a design superstar that can:

• Bring some creativity to the design process, 
• Present Product Design ideas visually using adobe photoshop and/or adobe illustrator, and with a proficiency in indesign
• Present new product/product range proposals (we currently use indesign for this);
• Prepare clear & concise tech packs that specify the design and manufacturing needs for our products. These tech packs will be then sent to our manufacturers in China – so that samples & Production are produced to a high standard and in line with our specifications & client briefs;
• If the candidate was to have a background or some training in regards to fabrics, print techniques and how to create garment specs & size gradings, for basic mens & womens styles – it would be of great benefit;
• Work with social media and bring some knowledge of how to utilise tools such as instagram and facebook to showcase and advertise brands & Products;
• Some experience in working with shopify would be helpful, but not essential. 
• Some experience in working with manufacturers offshore would be helpful, but not essential. 

We generally find people that have formal training in either graphic design, fashion & textiles, or even architecture suit the role really well. 

The role can involve a degree of flexibility on hours, and could potentially involve some hours of working from home (with some established hours/days in the office) for the right candidate.
