Tilt Renewables, a leader in sustainable energy solutions, is seeking an experienced Grid Connection Engineer to join our Grid Operations team. As a Grid Connection Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role guiding Grid Connection seamlessly to the grid, enabling clean energy to flow efficiently through their entire lifecycle, from the initial feasibility stage through to the post-R2 operation stage.
This comprehensive management approach encompasses early project assessments, detailed planning, and execution, followed by operational oversight to ensure continued compliance and optimal performance. The role demands a strategic blend of technical expertise and project management acumen, enabling the manager to effectively navigate the complexities of Grid Connection processes, while also ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
As a Grid Connection Engineer at Tilt Renewables, you’ll be at the forefront of our Grid Connection projects.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Strategic Oversight: Guide projects from feasibility to post-R2 operation, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and compliance standards. Manage and oversee Grid Connection projects, ensuring they align with strategic objectives and compliance standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with regulatory bodies, technical teams, and external stakeholders to foster strong relationships and achieve project success.
• Project Execution: Coordinate with internal teams, including our Grid Connection team, engineering, and project management, to ensure smooth execution within timelines and budgets.
• Technical Expertise: Leverage your technical skills to manage Grid Connection procedures effectively.
• Industry Networking: Build connections with industry organizations, participate in networking opportunities, and enhance our industry presence.
You’ll work closely with various stakeholders, including:
• Internal Teams: Grid Connection, Development, Delivery, Corporate Finance, and Operations.
• External Partners: Regulatory bodies (such as AEMO), NSP and OEMs specialist engineering consultants, contractors, and key suppliers.
This role requires someone who has the following:
• Minimum 2 years’ project management experience with at least 1 year experience with Grid Connection for renewable energy projects - Essential
• Technical and Project Management expertise overseeing Grid Projects aligning project goals with technical requirements - Essential.
• Proficiency in running steady state simulations using PSSE and DIgSILENT platforms to evaluate project feasibility and grid integration scenarios.
• Proficient in using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
• Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement Skills – you’ll have a natural ability to engage, lead technical conversations and build relationships with industry connections such as NSP’s and regulatory bodies such as AEMO.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering is required, with a preference for specialties in Mechanical, Electrical, or Renewable Energy Systems - Essential.
• Full Driver’s License - Essential.
