Job Title: Grid Connect Engineer

Airswift Recruitment is partnering with a leading player in the renewable energy sector to fill the position of Grid Connect Engineer. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the expansion of clean energy infrastructure in Australia.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyse grid data to identify optimal connection locations for renewable energy projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including AEMO, NSPs, and technical consultants to navigate the Grid Connection process effectively.
- Manage PSSE and PSCAD models, conducting Grid Connection studies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide technical expertise to support asset management activities, including registration assistance and market rule change assessments.
- Offer design insights for Grid Connection, substation, and collector network components of projects.
- Support Business Development efforts by preparing tenders and participating in meetings and conferences.
- Prepare clear written materials and presentations on technical issues for various stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in Grid Connection Engineering within the renewable energy sector.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Deep understanding of the National Electricity Market (NEM) and its transmission system.
- Proven track record in successfully connecting projects to the NEM through the AEMO registration process.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the National Electricity Rules (NER).
- Proficiency in generator and power systems modelling, particularly with PSSE, PSCAD, and/or Power Factory.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively.
