Grid Connections Manager

The Company:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Grid Connections Manager to join Renewable Energy Partners’ rapidly growing team. We are a Brisbane based company, focused on the origination and early-stage development of large-scale renewable energy projects in Australia. Our goal is to play a significant role in the transition of the National Electricity Market to renewable energy generation, keeping consumer prices low and the electricity grid stable. We are a tight-knit team, with a sizeable pipeline of projects that will see the portfolio expand.

The Role:

As Grid Connections Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of substation and grid connection delivery for a portfolio of large-scale renewable energy projects including wind, solar and energy storage. Reporting to the Directors, you will work closely with the wider development team to ensure project development progresses smoothly to Financial Close.

Responsibilities:

• Lead grid connection delivery across a portfolio of projects.
• Manage grid prospecting, connection conceptual design and optioneering.
• Work closely with and supervise the deliverables of 3rd party grid consultants.
• Collaborate and negotiate grid connection applications with network operators.
• Provide grid connection advice and support to the wider development team.
• Undertake grid connection due diligence including risk assessments and capacity/constraints assessments.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to grid connection and provide recommendations for solutions.

You:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in grid connection.
• Deep knowledge of the Australian grid connection process.
• Ability and experience in managing and negotiating with AEMO/NSPs.
• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or other relevant technical disciplines.
• Strong project management experience
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Good problem-solving skills
• High levels of initiative
• Willingness to take ownership of delivering outcomes
