Grid Modelling Engineer

Use PSSE to support power systems simulations for new sites (Wind/PV/BESS/Offshore Wind)

I'm representing an International renewables developer and asset owner in their search for a Grid Modelling Engineer.
About the Role
You will be joining the grid connection team to support in house modelling (predominantly on PSSE) for new renewable energy projects (wind/PV/BESS/Offshore Wind). Previous modelling experience is essential (ideally between 2-5 years) and any additional experience with hold point testing will be highly valuable.
Responsibilities

• Perform PSSE simulations for prospective new sites (wind/PV/BESS)
• Assist in developing GPS Compliance Assessment and R2 Model Validation Test Plans.
• Prepare and compile Hold Point reports during the R2 phase for submission to the NSPs and AEMO
• Assist in negotiation of transmission connection agreements
• Prepare PSS/E NEM snapshots for operational scenarios
• Support power system modeling and studies during project phases
• Support internal due diligence modeling of OEMs power system models
• Interact with EPC contractors, OEMs, TNSPs, and AEMO during project phases

Skills & Experience

• Electrical Engineering Degree
• Ideally 2 to 5 years in a similar role
• PSSE/PSCAD modelling experience
• Experience in hold point testing
• Good communication skills
• Python scripting is valuable
