About the role:
The Ground Transport Operations & Project Manageris a crucial position designed to directly influence and enhance the operational performance of Sydney Airport's Ground Transportation and parking services. This role is specifically tasked with developing and implementing strategies that ensure the smooth functioning of all landside transport modes, including managing car parks, Ground Transport facilities, and related vendor contracts. The objective is to streamline operations, bolster safety, and elevate the overall customer experience, while also focusing on achieving specific revenue targets and operational efficiency goals.
This role demands a hands-on approach to project management, vendor coordination, and a continuous improvement mindset to keep Sydney Airport at the forefront of operational excellence in the aviation industry.
*This is a 9-month fixed term contract to cover parental leave.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure a consistently positive experience for passengers, staff, and visitors, optimising their journey through efficient landside operations.
- Deliver on transport revenue and operational expenditure targets, aligning with the airport's strategic goals and key performance indicators.
- Manage outsourced vendors effectively, overseeing aspects like car park operations, system maintenance, cash collection, and signage, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Supervise car park contractors, manage staff parking agreements, and lead significant parking relocation and billing projects.
- Implement and monitor maintenance programs for infrastructure, ensuring safe and reliable landside operations.
- Spearhead the introduction of new customer-centric products and services, conduct regular safety and compliance audits, and identify opportunities for business enhancement and continuous process improvement.
Experience you’ll bring:
- Relevant tertiary education or a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
- Extensive experience in managing Operations and SLA contracts.
- Proven ability to work in and manage complex operational environments, including stakeholder collaboration.
- Strong project management capabilities with a track record as a subject matter expert and leader.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with a history of building strong business relationships internally and externally.
- An analytical approach to problem-solving using data, coupled with a solid understanding of Work, Health, and Safety practices and contract management.
