The opportunity
We have an exciting and rewarding career opportunity for a Groundsperson who takes great pride in their work to join our team at Geelong. You will work with our Outdoor Operations and Maintenance Team to maintain our existing grounds and perform funeral operations tasks in our ever-growing and evolving cemeteries. This is a permanent role, with lots of variety in your day-to-day work performance with opportunities to grow and learn, at the same time. You’ll discover family friendly hours, great employee benefits and a safe working environment. Your primary duties will include the following:
- Grounds maintenance - general upkeep of cemetery lawns and surroundings
- Operate equipment such as backhoes, front end loaders, tractors, excavators and other earthmoving equipment
- Operate hand tools, brush cutters, chainsaws, mowers and other grounds maintenance equipment
- Construction tasks that include landscape duties and burial site preparation
- Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
- Uphold organisational values and standards of excellence

In addition, it would be highly desirable if you had:
- Heavy Rigid Truck Licence and machinery tickets or willing to obtain
- OHS Construction Card (White Card) or willing to obtain.
