This is a Recruitment Pool for Senior Occupational Therapists for Permanent Full Time and Permanent Part Time appointments at various hours.  

We currently have 2 positions available.  One position is available in Youth Axis (Wembley) and the other position is available in YouthLink (Northbridge).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 29/08/2025.

About this role:

Youth Axis service provides an early intervention service for young people presenting ultra-high risk of psychosis and/or features of an emotionally unstable personality disorder.  Youth Axis targets young people who have not had extensive treatment by a specialist mental health service for these presenting problems, and will see people for up to six months. 

YouthLink service provides specialist mental health services to young people:

  • aged 13-24 years
  • with complex, and/or persistent and/or severe mental health difficulties, or experiencing significant symptoms and are at-risk of developing a long-term mental health disorders
  • who require Tier 4 youth mental health services and are experiencing significant barriers in accessing other mental health services appropriate to need, such as homelessness, transience, and/or limited support networks
  • who are help accepting and consenting to mental health treatment and support
  • primarily residing in the Perth northern metropolitan area.
  • The service provides triage, assessment, treatment and support for young people who meet the above criteria

Within a multidisciplinary and professional team context the Senior Occupational Therapist plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates Occupational Therapy (OT) services to young people and their families with emerging mental health disorders using advanced occupational therapy clinical practice skills; case manages a complex mental health caseload; provides supervision to other members of the MDT and to students on placement within the service; provides consultation, liaison and training to enhance the capacity of Tier 1 and Tier 2 service providers.
