A&G’s Internal Audit team provides concise evaluation of the control environment, offering advice supported by fact-based observations and pragmatic recommendations. The primary objective is to support A&G in achieving its business objectives.
With a focus on initiative, innovation, and accountability, as the Group Internal Auditor you will collaborate with the Senior Audit Manager to cultivate robust business relationships. Your responsibilities include delivering high-quality internal audits to drive improvements in the control environment.
Accountabilities
- Conduct audits as per the Annual Audit Plan, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, pinpointing areas of vulnerability and risk.
- Collaborate closely with IT and business teams to streamline processes and leverage automation opportunities.
- Maintain meticulous workpapers to support audit testing, documenting results and conclusions.
- Prepare detailed audit reports, outlining findings, recommendations, and actionable plans for improvement.
- Keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in the industry to enhance the audit process continuously.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Internal Audit team initiatives.
Knowledge and experience
- Tertiary degree qualifications in commerce, accounting, or related fields are mandatory.
- Active professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or CIA are highly desirable.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies related to Financial Services and risk management is advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Internal Audit, Controls Assurance, or Risk Management roles.
- Experience in an Insurance organisation is preferrable, or a Financial Services organisation with a strong understanding of the Australian Regulatory landscape.
- Proficiency in audit processes, risk frameworks, and compliance management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and influence senior management.
