Who we’re looking for:
As part of the finance team, the Senior Internal Auditor, will support the General Manager Finance and Audit in providing BMD’s senior management and directors with an independent and objective assessment of the company’s performance with respect to internal control and governance, consistent with the effective management of risk as a driver of business performance. You will identify internal control deficiencies, assist management by recommending remediation measures and undertake follow up activities to ensure deficiencies identified have been addressed.
The Senior Internal Auditor will ensure that working papers, draft audit reports, and other deliverables meet appropriate standards. Dedicated to meeting deadlines, you will apply your skills to support the team to:
- Conduct operational and business/project assurance audits, focusing on compliance, performance, financial matters, risk, and fraud.
- Conduct end-to-end audits, project reviews, and special ad-hoc reviews within budget and timeframe
- Develop risk-based audit programs using data analytics to ensure compliance with international standards.
- Create professional internal audit reports for various management levels.
- Offer timely advice to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of business activities.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and assess corrective actions.
- Assist in preparing audit-related submissions, reports, and briefs.
- Promote the role of internal audit and maintain collaborative relationships.
- Stay updated with professional internal auditing standards and best practices.
- Act ethically and discreetly in all matters.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with:
- Degree in Commerce or Business with major in Accounting.
- Relevant qualifications such as IIA/CIA, ICAA, or CPA (desirable)
- Professional audit certifications preferred.
- Proven experience in internal auditing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to a high work standard and work ethic
