The responsibility of the Group Accountant is to provide accounting and financial support to the Group Financial Controller to properly administer the financial, accounting, taxation and compliance activities of the whole Group.
The Jreissati Group compromises of Bensons Property Group of companies and funds (BPG), Levantine Hill Estate companies (LHE) and other private Family Office entities. The role will also include aspects of Accounts Payable, management of project costs within the accounting software, assisting in the management of project budgets and month end reporting and reconciliations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and assist with the completion of financial reports.
- Oversee and assist with the completion of annual financial reports and tax requirements including Payroll Tax, GST, Income Tax, Land Tax, FBT, Tax Planning and Work Cover.
- Maintaining the integrity of the ERP system to ensure accounting and reporting standards are met.
- Overseeing of, and responsible for the timeliness of reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Undertake reviews where required.
- Responsible for maintenance of general ledger in an accurate manner.
- Assist in the completion of ad hoc financial reporting requirements including banking requirements.
- Responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting for group entities.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly management reports and board packs.
- Prepare and maintain Settlements File for projects incl. management of settlements.
- Cashflow management & inter entity cash transfers.
- Answer Supplier and internal queries.
Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Accounting and Finance
- CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong numeracy, reconciliation and accounting skills.
- Experience in dealing with complex, multi-entity groups preferable.
- Proven experience working with property/construction clients.
- Strong systems knowledge and ability to pick things up quickly.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will be a first mover from a boutique/mid sized Chartered Accounting Firm or someone with experience working as an accountant in a Family Office.
