Reporting directly to the Director of Strategy & Integrated Operations, the Group Manager - Strategy plays a pivotal role in driving Fortescue's strategic direction towards sustainable growth and innovation. Leading cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will spearhead initiatives to develop and implement forward-thinking business strategies, drive organisational focus on core priorities, and ensure seamless execution in alignment with our long-term vision and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Take ownership of refreshing our portfolio strategy, collaborating with diverse teams to conduct comprehensive market analyses, define strategic frameworks, and drive exploration and corporate development initiatives.
- Translate market insights and strategic priorities into tangible plans and initiatives that foster growth, innovation, and sustainable value creation across the organisation.
- Provide clear direction and support to cross-functional teams, monitoring progress and overcoming obstacles to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and timelines.
- Conduct rigorous analysis and risk assessments to inform strategic decision-making, optimizing resource allocation and maximizing returns on investments and strategic partnerships.
- Stay abreast of market developments and competitive dynamics to identify areas for differentiation and strategic positioning.
- Assess existing strategies, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation, enhancing the organisation's competitive advantage and sustainability.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, offering insights and recommendations to senior leadership and the board to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand expectations and foster open communication and collaboration in support of Fortescue's strategic direction and performance.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive progressive experience in strategic planning, portfolio management, and corporate development within the mining, energy, or related industries, with a focus on critical minerals or sustainable energy sectors highly desirable.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams with strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate market trends and develop innovative solutions to emerging challenges and opportunities.
