Job Description:The
Training Design Consultant role is part of a team that is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, implementation, evaluation, delivery and support processes for training and capability assessment materials associated with Downer's enterprise wide technology solutions (
Group Solutions) within projects and business as usual (BAU). This is a full time permanent position based in either Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.
Responsibilities:- Design, develop and validate capability-based training and assessment materials for all of Downer's Group Solutions including Finance and HR systems and associated processes in accordance with the needs of target audiences.
- Research, analyse and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the training courses, resource/support tools, assessment materials and business system related processes.
- Provide adult learning principles and instructional design support, advice and guidance on emerging instructional design strategies and initiatives to fellow team members, thus enabling the development of innovative training programs and best practice capability-based assessment methods.
- Use pragmatic and creative thinking to design, develop and maintain engaging, relevant and effective fit-for-purpose resource materials including innovative self-paced multimedia, instructor-led training resources, eLearning modules, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) and role based assessment materials to meet Downer's global Solutions Training requirements.
- Participate in planning for and delivery of training support at go-live.
- Deliver training content to upskill end users, to ensure developed content enables a high-quality training outcome that coincides with global system deployment.
- Deliver training to the Training Delivery Consultants (Train the Trainer sessions) to ensure content is understood and to enable successful completion of end user training.
- Communication of changes to existing training courses and/or introduction of new training courses or associated processes to key stakeholders within Downer.
- Work with systems and business subject matter experts to ensure the currency, relevance and accuracy of training content.
- Facilitate and chair meetings with key stakeholders and SMEs during the process of development / validation to ensure training and assessment materials remain current with systems upgrades or business process enhancements.
- Participate in post implementation reviews and contribute ideas on approach and methods to improve deliverables for future deployments.
- Ensuring adherence to a clearly defined structure and framework set out by the team, while also demonstrating proactive problem-solving abilities to effectively address unforeseen challenges within this framework.
Qualifications:- Extensive demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles, and how these principles interact with current education/training delivery and competency-based assessment mediums.
- Demonstrated research skills to locate, evaluate and provide recommendations on available training content and delivery packages in all areas of training and assessment materials (e.g. instructor-led, eLearning, etc).
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering enterprise Finance and/or HR systems training.
- Demonstrated ability to upload compliant eLearning content into learning management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering face to face training, including the use of technology such as MS Teams for virtual engagement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in navigating fast-paced, constantly evolving environments within large corporations.
- Ability to navigate and deliver in ambiguous situations and environments.
Preference given to candidates with the following specific experience:
- Articulate 360, Camtasia or similar and Adobe
- JD Edwards and/ or SAP
- Finance related content development
