About this Opportunity
This position is suited to a person who enjoys working in a recreation environment maintaining a high level of customer service by:
- completing appraisals and providing advice and instruction to recreation centre users on the safe and correct use of gym equipment
- developing programs both general and weight related to a diverse range of customer needs depending on their ability
- performing clerical duties efficiently
- motivating gym users and promoting recreation centre services

Essential Criteria
- Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent
- AUSactive Accreditation
- Strength for Life Instructor (formerly known as Living Longer, Living Stronger)
- Provide First Aid
- National Police Clearance (no more than 3 months old)
- Working With Children Check
- Experience in completing appraisals, developing and implementing gym-based programs
- Knowledge of current health and fitness procedures and practices
- Knowledge of recreation facility procedures and practices
Hours of Work
This is a permanent part-time position working 22 hours per fortnight. Additional hours may be available on occasion to meet operational requirements.
This position is required to work shift combinations including but not limited to:
- Weekday Mornings: 6am - 10am
- Weekday Late Evenings: 3.30pm - 7.30pm
- Weekend Saturdays: 8am - 2.45pm
About the Benefits
This position offers a salary of Level 3 being $65,770.65 - $70,136.16 (dependent on qualifications and experience) per annum pro rata, plus superannuation. Other benefits include annual increments, EBA salary increases, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, accrues annual leave with 17.5% loading and personal leave.
