We are looking for an energetic and precise Forklift Operator looking to train up as a Hack Truck/Tug Operator.
In this role, you will expertly:
- Pilot our powerful Hack Truck and Forklift to load, unload, and move trailers around our bustling depot.
- Keep a cool head (and steady hand!) while manoeuvring in tight spaces and ensuring accurate trailer positioning.
- Maintain peak performance of your assigned equipment conducting pre-operational checks and reporting any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with your team to keep the freight flowing smoothly and efficiently.
- Uphold the highest safety standards – because everyone goes home happy and healthy!
Sadleirs is an Australian family owned business, specialising in freight transportation, national and international logistics and 3PL warehousing. We work on a national road and rail network and focus on delivering great service to our customers.
Key Duties
- Operate all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Report any damages of freight or equipment to your supervisor immediately
- Perform visual inspections of the condition of each trailer prior to moving and raise any concerns with your Supervisor
- Operate and stage any semi and B-double trailers as well as local P.U.D vehicles for loading/unloading in the yard
- General forklift/tug duties - loading PUD fleet and Semis/B-doubles Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear while performing duties.
- Collaborate with team members to efficiently complete tasks and meet deadlines
Skills, licences & experience required for the position.
- Minimum two years recent experience within the Transport/Logistics Industry
- Valid LF ticket required, HR licence highly regarded
- Dangerous Goods Licence highly advantageous but not essential.
- The right to live and work in Australia.
- Proven experience in following safety procedures
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proven experience preparing and restraining heavy vehicle loads in a secure and safe manner for transport
- Extensive experience with coupling and uncoupling trailers
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
