The Point Brisbane Hotel is currently looking for an experienced Handy Person to join our friendly team on a casual basis. The successful applicant will work alongside our knowledgeable Maintenance Manager to ensure the success and smooth running of the hotel.

As our Handy Person, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. This is a "hands-on" position being responsible for the general repair, maintenance, painting and upkeep of all aspects of the property including guest rooms and hotel grounds. This includes carrying out preventative maintenance and assisting with all scheduled repairs and items logged via Opera.
Experience essential for this role:
- Perform scheduled painting tasks throughout the property, including guest rooms, public areas, and exterior surfaces.
- Maintain the landscaping of hotel grounds, ensuring a neat and appealing appearance.
- Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of the swimming pool, including monitoring water quality and chemical levels.
- Carry out general maintenance and repairs as needed to ensure the overall upkeep of the property.
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and prolong the lifespan of hotel facilities.
- Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues and complete repair projects efficiently.
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the Maintenance Manager promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and stay updated on maintenance techniques and best practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to guest requests and ensuring their comfort and satisfaction during their stay.
To succeed in this role you must have:
- Availability to work Monday to Saturday, with flexibility to weekends as needed, working approximately 30 hours per week.
- Strong multitasking abilities, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Keen attention to detail and proficient time management skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Excellent personal presentation and conduct.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills for interactions with guests and contractors.
