Address Seasonal Workers Central & Far North Queensland
2PH Farms, a large citrus orchard and packing operation in Emerald QLD and Dimbulah QLD, is seeking to employ up to 700 workers across the 2024/25 season. The primary season is between the months of April to December, however some harvest and general labouring roles are available year round.
These roles involve completing a variety of duties including fruit picking, thinning, packing, crop care, and general farm labouring, cleaning and housekeeping. Higher level roles are also available including and tractor/truck/forklift operators, team leaders and supervisors.
Tractor, truck and forklift operators are paid at level 2 - 4.
Assistant Supervisor and Supervisor roles start at level 3, increasing in accordance up to level 5.
These roles are paid in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020. Most positions are offered on a casual basis however up to 50 are available on an ongoing full time basis.
Workers interested in further skill development or progression within the business are encouraged to speak with the Supervisor regarding opportunities such as obtaining a forklift or truck licence, first aid training, or leadership development to progress to supervisory roles. Progression opportunities will be assessed on an individual basis taking into account the needs of the business, performance and attendance record.
These roles are physically demanding and require employees to be physically fit and capable of performing the repetitive and demanding nature of the work including carrying of weight up to 20kgs, frequent ladder climbing, bending, squatting, stacking cartons, container loading, computer packing, despatch/receivals, cleaning, and general farming duties designated by a supervisor/leading hand throughout the shift.
The hours and specific farm/crop for picking will vary daily depending on weather conditions and market demands, however they do often require early starts and late finishes, with all rosters requiring work on weekdays and weekends.
Picking is paid on a piece rate, other roles may be paid on an hourly rate or piece rate, all are in accordance with the Horticulture Award 2020.
