Harvest Workers - Devonport TAS
We require up to 450 people to assist with picking Berries, Vegetables and general farm Labour in East Devonport, Wesley Vale, Lebrina and Sulphur Creek areas in TAS.
Work will commence October 2024, work may last up to 6-9 months.
You will generally work 6 days per week from Monday to Saturday, though this may changed from time to time.
Minimum of 30 hours a week, usually work will start at 6:00am and finish at 4:00pm, though at times this may change due to the seasonal needs of the business
Payment for these positions will be under the Horticulture Award, 2020, classification: Level 1. Casual.
There may be an opportunity to undertake training and upskilling in this role, which can allow your remuneration to increase as per the levels in the Horticulture Award.
Work will be paid at a piece rate and you may be required to do some duties which will be paid hourly work on occasions.
Your duties each day may include:
Picking berries & vegetable
Pruning berry canes
Planting, picking and pulling out of other farm produce
Grading vegetables
General farm yard duties

Selection Criteria:
Ability to pass a colour blind test
Must be fit and healthy, with good flexibility
Ability to acquire good speed at manual tasks
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to have eye and attention to detail
Applicants from outside the East Devonport, Wesley Vale, Lebrina and Sulphur Creek areas in TAS must demonstrate a commitment to moving and living in the area for the period of the assignment.
